The Dallas Museum of Art - Great Writing Inspiration

Yesterday, I visited The Dallas Museum of Art for their Native American exhibit, which is spectacular and worth the $10. If you're in the area, you should check it out. Unfortunately, they wouldn't allow photography.

However, I did manage to take several photographs of downtown Dallas and other pieces in the art museum. It was an inspirational visit. I will be checking books out of the library regarding Japanese, Hindu, and Native American gods and goddesses very soon. I'd like to highlight some of them in my upcoming stories.

If you're looking for something new to write about, I'm sure you can find your muse at your own local museums. And if not, well, you can enjoy my photographs here. Perhaps, they will give you an idea for your own stories.

I think the art gallery is a fantastic place for inspiration. Actually, I think it's probably even a little better than reading good writing, because sometimes good writing can just make you feel depressed!

I find reading poetry helps me too (I'm not a poetry writer myself).

Stay well,

Darrell.

Darrell,

I agree. The art galleries let your mind process through organic stream of consciousness, which often yields good results.

I read poetry too. However, I find a collection of short stories can hatch at least four new plot ideas per book for me. Can you guess that I have a big short story collection in my personal library? LOL

Wonderful photo essay. I strongly encourage you to write about the gods and goddesses you saw there.

Thanks, Erin. I plan on it. Right now I am finishing a new short story about a woman losing her mind in a creepy way. Then on to the next tale...
