The 12 Days of Creepfest Blog Tour Begins with My First Giveaway!

It's time for a Creeptastic tour, folks! The 12 Days of Creepfest is a Horror and Dark Fantasy author's Blog Hop and Tour of today's Independent Writers and Publishers. Get hopping and meet some other authors after you participate in my contest.

I am hosting two giveaways. The early bird gets the worm, but the second mouse gets the cheese. My first contest is running for the first three days. The second is running for the rest of Creepfest.

I am giving away one copy of Deadlines: An Anthology of Horror and Dark Fiction with my short story, La Nuit du la Chat Noir, still available for purchase from Comet Press.

My story was inspired by the famous French black cat poster, Tournèe Du Chat Noir by Rudolph de Salis.

This replica hangs in the hallway of my home on the way upstairs.

Click here to read an excerpt from La Nuit du la Chat Noir.

Here's the contest, so listen up and read carefully.

In my story the black cat is nameless? What would you name this cat and why? Tell me in 100 words or less. The best answer wins!

Before you answer, read the rules.

Contest Rules

2) I am not guaranteeing this will arrive in time for the holidays. The prize will be mailed snail mail. Please leave your email in your comment or a site address where I can contact you. I'd name it Tournèe Du Chat Noir, after the poster :D I like the name Tournèe for a black cat - for any cat really. It's very cute and very French. (Although I doubt I can win this as I'd need it posting to UK or e-pub).

I would call him/her Charlie after my aunt's cat. He was a semi wild cat who would get into endless scraps with other creatures. I like to imagine he was a prize fighter in his previous life.

I love the Chat! I was just admiring him again recently in a friend's Goodreads pic.

Max. That was the name of my cat. So purely sentimental reasons. He was a great cat, though more like a dog because he would follow you down the street and only used the bathroom outside. He also loved to bring me presents. Unfortunately they were usually stil alive, which caused a lot of chaos when he brought in birds. Gads, I miss him.

I would name it "Duff" because it looks like a tough cat that would kick pussy cats' asses, but it would also curl up beside me while I drank a beer or two. ;)

Great contest, Nora!!

I'd call it Baset, after the Egyptian feline deity known as the protector of the pharaoh and Ra himself. Also known as Lady of Flame or The Eye of Ra, aren't those kick-butt titles?

Awesome contest! I'm here from the creepfest hop, you can contact me at gbmg76(at)gmail(dot)com

I would name it Sparkles. That was the first thing that came to mind, probably because that cat looks like it needs reminded who's boss. For the same reason that big tough guys have nicknames like, "Tiny," this cat would be funny if called, "Sparkles."

I'm going with Shadow! Sure, it may be a cliche name for a black cat, but I like it better than Ebony or Raven (no offense to any Ebonys or Ravens out there :)

I would call him "Sans nom, Majestueux" (without a name, majestic) as his stature speaks of elegance and sublime majesty and his aloof posture implies he won't give his name :p He doth hint of elitism. other world writer at g mail dot com
