It was SO enjoyable to buy books for my son and niece and nephew, and with the advent of the Internet I was able to track down books long out of print. I loved this family. All these years later, my daughter was assigned the book for summer reading (4th grade) and she just couldn't grasp it. A Boxcar? They don't even call them that anymore, and it made me realize not all books are timeless. However she plowed through all the Judy Bloom coming of age books just like I did.
